What Are The Jeep 4xe Driving Modes?

2019 Jeep Cherokee Grill

Jeep’s modern lineup now includes two plug-in electric hybrid (PHEV) models, the Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe. While most standard conventional hybrid vehicles have a single driving mode, combining electric and gasoline power, the Ford PHEV models have three modes:

  • Via Electric Mode, the Jeep 4xe runs on 100% battery power, providing low-emissions zones in cities like Portland and Beaverton. You can also use it while driving off-road in different places.
  • The Jeep 4xe Hybrid Mode is similar to a hybrid vehicle powertrain, combining the fusion of a battery and combustion engine. The Jeep 4xe in Hybrid Mode can go as high as 49 MPGe, impressive for a hybrid vehicle like those offered by Jeep.
  • If your electric power runs out, the Jeep 4xe eSave Mode will kick in, powering the vehicle with a combustion engine, battery power being reserved for later use.

With that kind of versatility, many Vancouver and Hillsboro drivers are going to love the available Jeep 4xe models. Are you ready to learn more? Read on from Dick Hannah RAM to see the rest. Our guide breaks down everything from Jeep 4xe MPG in Hybrid Mode to all about the Jeep 4xe Hybrid.

Jeep 4xe Hybrid Mode

You’ll be able to maximize the Jeep 4xe MPG in Hybrid mode without worrying about plugging in and charging your vehicle when its electric power runs out. When this does occur, the vehicle will immediately shift to Jeep 4xe eSave Mode. Meanwhile, the Jeep 4xe Hybrid Mode is a default setting for these 4xe models. All of which provides a good balance between acceleration, horsepower, instant torque and greater efficiency.

In Hybrid mode, the Jeep 4xe MPG in Hybrid mode reaches 49 miles Per Gallon/Kilowatt.

Jeep 4xe Electric Mode

If your electric battery charge level is at 1% or able, it will be able to run on 100% electric power. As a result, you can travel around Beaverton without tailpipe emissions. A Jeep 4xe model will be able to drive up to 21 miles in Electric Mode.

Jeep 4xe eSave Mode

While in Jeep 4xe eSave Mode, the 2.0L engine provides a lot of the power. However if the power demand is low, your engine will automatically shut off. Moving over to eSave Mode is a great idea when saving power for a trip late on in the day. All of which can be done without stopping to plug in and charge the vehicle. If you’re driving the Jeep 4xe in eSave Mode, your gas mileage is 20 MPG.

Jeep 4xe Regenerative Braking Technology

An innovative and unique feature, regenerative braking charges your 4xe electric battery as the vehicle is decelerating and braking. You’ll be able to recoup a small amount of battery power without having to stop for charging. This also provides you with the benefit of slowing the vehicle without pressing down on the brake pedal. The Regenerative Braking feature also will stay Selected, unless you decide to turn it off.
